M. Haroon Burhanullah, MD – President

Dr. Haroon Burhanullah graduated from Dow Medical College in 2004, did postdoctoral research fellowship in Neuroimaging from Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus and was awarded President Obama’s Stimulus award. He completed his residency in psychiatry from Bergen Regional Medical center, NJ and graduated as a Chief Resident. He received American Psychiatric association Resident’s Recognition award and was nominated President of Residents chapter at NJ psychiatric association. He completed fellowship in Geriatric Neuropsychiatry from Johns Hopkins University School of medicine. Currently working as an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of medicine in the division of Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry. He is also deputy director of Consultation Liaison Service at Hopkins. Dr. Burhanullah’ s Clinical interest is patients with neurodegenerative disease and memory disorders. His research interest is pre clinical Alzheimer’s disease and delirium. He is author of several peer-reviewed articles published at various American Journals.

Samina Qureshi, MD – President Elect

Dr. Samina Qureshi is a 1992 graduate of Rawalpindi Medical College. Currently she is Vice President in the Health Science and Pharma Domain; working within Federal agency projects such as FDA, NIH, CDC and global bodies such as WHO. Published author in numerous industry journals and invited presenter at international conferences. She is actively involved in her alumni and will be President of RMCAANA 2020. She has completed her post graduate studies with M.Sc. in Regulatory Science from Johns Hopkin University, Maryland.

Samina Qureshi, MD – President Elect

Dr. Samina Qureshi is a 1992 graduate of Rawalpindi Medical College. Farzana Ajmal, MD – Secretary

Dr. Farzana Ajmal is board certified in family medicine and geriatrics she see patients of all ages from 13 to 100.
She has experience with Assisted living s nursing homes and home visits.
Currently she own a private practice and medical director at her own ACO.
Dr. Ajmal is mother of 4 children.

Omrana Pasha-Razzak, MD – Treasurer

Dr. Omrana Pasha-Razzak is a graduate of the Aga Khan University Medical College Class of 1994. She completed her MSPH at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, as the first Fellow of the Fogarty International Center of the NIH selected from Pakistan. After completing her residency training residency training at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, she returned to Pakistan as a member of the faculty at the Aga Khan University Medical College where she led a large research team conducting randomized controlled trials of interventions for women’s and children’s health. She returned to the United States in 2014 and worked at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Currently she serves as Professor of Internal Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the Penn State College of Medicine and is Co-Director of the Junior Faculty Development Program

Ghulam Abbas, MD – Past President (2019 and 2020)

Dr. Abbas graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore Pakistan in 2003 and has been actively involved in AIMCANA – Allama Iqbal Medical College alumni. Health and education promotion has been his passion locally and internationally. His vision for Pakistani descent American Physicians of Maryland (PAPMD) is to unite them at one forum at State level, create more educational activities, help and guide young students in our State who are interested in Medical Profession and to be actively involved in health promotion in the State of Maryland and back in Pakistan through telemedicine and health seminars.

He is currently serving as an executive director for APPNA- Maryland.
